Welcome neighbor to Woodbine, Georgia. On the banks of the Satilla River in the heart of Camden County, Woodbine is a wonderful place to call home!
Woodbine is located in Camden County in the southeastern corner if Georgia. Centuries ago, a tribe of Native Americans, the Timucuans, lived in villages along the riverbanks. The land that the town occupies was once part of a large plantation known as the Woodbine Plantation. In 1893, its owner, James King Bedell, deeded land for the town and for a railroad right-of-way. That right of way now serves as our beautiful Riverwalk. In 1908, the name Woodbine was approved for the little community and a charter was drawn up for its incorporation. The town is now the county seat for Camden County.
Woodbine hosts Georgia's Crawfish Festival every year on the last Friday and Saturday in April. Held along the Riverwalk and Waterfront Park, you can enjoy food, arts, crafts, games, rides, music and crawfish.
Other events include "Super Saturday", an annual community-wide yard sale offering bargains and bonuses for everyone.
The Camden Community Center, located in Woodbine, is host to many different events including weekly bluegrass and gospel music concerts every Friday evening.
